A chilly outing (7C + cold airstream) to the Mendips where we quickly warmed on the 3km grind from Dinder. A fast swoop down to Wells and coffee at the excellent Bishop's Palace before a flat return via Glastonbury.

Super ride yesterday with 10 of us on the road. Nice to meet Rich and no problems about puncture, strays and cows, especially on such a lovely sunny day. Super weather and an excellent route. Rich says thanks to all for making him feel so welcome. Sorry my puncture extended your coffee break in the sun and Gill apologises for causing another delay because of her creative alternative route through Long Load!!

8 Wheelers set off for Langport via High Ham but the early rain threatening but failing to soak us or blow us off course caused us to divert out to Burtle and a stop at Sweets for cakes. The company was excellent and despite the rain it was warm and good cycling. Hope Roy has recovered from his fall when his wheel hit a cowpat on the camber of the road. Thanks all for the usual bonhomie. Glad we went out.

It was great to be out in numbers again, on what turned into a lovely morning. A lovely birthday ride in beautiful weather, and a wonderful cafe. An excellent choice of destination and excellent café stop with a full house of regular Wheelers' harmonious voices thrown in. The birthday girl and a few Wheelers continued the ride on their way home to knock off the 70Kms. to celebrate.
Thank you very much to the BG for the cakes and thanks to all for excellent company on a lovely day.

Butleigh Sportive – A great day well organised and supported in perfect weather. 3 Wheelers took part on the 100Km. and 50Km.rides. There would have been at least 4 more except for the fact that the event was postponed from the previous Sunday due to the weather.

A thoroughly enjoyable ride morning. Felt good on the bike in the sunshine ready for the Sportive. Photo shows us tapering down at the Wookey Hub -

No ride due to Storm Bronagh.
Perfect early Autumn cycling conditions today for a ride out with the Wheelers to Wincanton coffee stop. Calories used 1224 which is exactly the same number of calories in JM almond croissant.

Another great ride out with the Wheelers, varied topography ranging from gravel tracks over the Levels to a Mendip meander. We started as 5 with TH cutting short as planned and ended as 3 having lost JG when we turned off by the Mendip transmitter. Sorry JG, we broke the Wheelers golden rule of waiting at junctions…thank goodness for text messaging and being elevated where there was a decent signal.
