Langport 29th March 2018

Four of us decided to take a chance with the weather and for the 18 miles to Bow Wharf Langport via Muchelney and we pretty much got away with it ...just a couple of light showers. Any scintilla of smugness was swiftly extinguished on the homeward leg via Pitney as it poured from start to finish! However we did enjoy ourselves and felt that at least we can indulge a little more over Easter than might have been the case otherwise.

Castle Cary (Aborted Chapel Cross) 22nd March 2018

In rather chilly conditions (what’s new?!), a peleton of 8 set off for Chapel Cross tea room. We bravely started to ascend Galhampton Hill, ignoring the ‘road closed’ sign, before discovering that the sign, and workmen beyond it, meant business.  So we diverted via C Cary.  The return leg was marked by a puncture on Barry’s brand-new rear tyre

Sweets 15th March 2018 A Sweet Trio:

We splashed through the lanes and Ham Wall (great white egret spotted) to Sweets, where the cakes were eschewed on the basis that we hadn’t cycled far enough. The chilly SE breeze became apparent on the return, accompanied by a couple of showers. A brisk and convivial outing.

Wookey Hub 8th March 2018 Five Go To Wookey:

A brisk, chilly WNW breeze made us glad that we decided on the shorter route to Wookey Hub over Sherborne.   Our legs got plenty of exercise against the wind on the way out, but we were largely blown home.  The views, illuminated by early spring sunshine, were grand.
