Butleigh Village  Somerset

Butleigh Parish Council Web Site

Butleigh Church of England Primary serves the village of Butleigh and its surrounding area. It’s situated in a pleasant rural location and sits at the ‘heart’ of the community.

Currently there are 90 pupils on roll which are divided into four mixed age classes. Staff, governors, parents and the community are exceptionally supportive of the school and as a result curriculum standards are consistently above the National average. The school has always been recognised as a welcoming and caring place where children are valued and are given outstanding pastoral support. Resources are utilised to their best advantage and the school offers a wealth of extra - curricular activities that enhance children’s learning.

Being over 150 years old the school has a wonderful history of providing an excellent education for its pupils, it has always been and continues to be a forward thinking and proactive school.     In 2010, three stunning timber activity rooms were built on school site. We use the rooms for a variety of activities especially Art, Music and Science. One of the rooms is also a purpose built library.

The school currently has four class rooms, three within ‘temporary’ Elliot buildings, and one within the main school building.

The school hall is within the original school building. This has multiple uses from assemblies, dining hall, sports hall, school plays and drama, exams, and functions.
